I’m not that agent, why HGTV won’t be calling me

I give you credit for knowing what a bedroom is

Today Dean Ouellette of the East Valley Team talks about how he is unlikely to be asked to join an HGTV show. While he may be on Youtube, he is not likely to be on your TV any time soon because he thinks you smart.

Does it annoy you when the real estate agent points out every little thing in the house like “this is the master bedroom” or “notice it has his and her sinks.” It annoys me too, and because it annoys me so much I won’t do it. Have you watched any of those HGTV real estate shows? While not everyone does it, most will tell you which is why HGTV will probably never ask me to come on.

When I see the agent leading the couple through the house telling them where the master bedroom is it drives me crazy. I know what the master bedroom is and before I even purchased my first house or thought about becoming an agent I knew what a master bedroom was. I think our job as an agent when showing a home is to point out things that may not be obvious and to answer any questions we can, not to point out it has a porch.

I know some agents are very comfortable showing houses like that, so if that is what you are looking for in an agent then you will be able to find it. If you want an agent who will walk you though the process of buying a house and help guide the process along, that is where I think my value comes in.

HGTV if you want I will gladly appear, but I may not be very good TV for your viewers as that is what you seem to like in your agents.
